General English courses run from Elementary to Advanced level and aim to develop all skills including speaking, listening, reading, writing and pronunciation as well as develop your vocabulary & grammar.
We focus on improving your ability to communicate clearly and effectively using tried and tested course-books and digital resources.
You will work individually, in pairs and in groups. We will also give you mini projects and presentations to prepare. At the end of the week, we will test you on what you have learnt throughout the week and encourage you to move up to the next level as you progress.

28th December – Boxing DayAny days lost due to public holidays will NOT be reimbursed as extra days for study. We’ll be closed for Christmas from 19th December 2019 to 3rd January 2020. Lessons will be added to your course to make up for this period.
Each week you will be given homework and at the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to revise what you have learnt. Students can study quietly, do homework, read for pleasure or use one of our computers in the student lounge. There is free wi-fi throughout the school and the student lounge has a coffee machine and vending/snacks machine to save you time in your breaks.
Students will need to buy a coursebook at the start of their course (£30 – £35, depending on the book) or for short courses they can rent them at reception (a £10 handling fee is charged). You will need to take a test to assess your level, and you will also complete a Needs Analysis form.
All General English courses run throughout the year, but Our English school will be closed for Christmas and on Bank Holidays. There will be no classes on these days. Please check the academic calendar for more information.
During your English course, you will be expected to participate as much as possible and work individually, in pairs and in groups as well as take part in whole-class activities. All staff holds a valid ‘Enhanced DBS’check or staff will sign a declaration form until their DBS check is returned.
